The company was the first on this lead system to use a compund steam engine for pumping duties (in September 1889) and the first to use electric haulage underground (in 1903, the fourth mine in Victoria to do so). The company also used a shaft sinking cylinder to bottom their shaft in wash in 1893. The mulloch dump and tailings are particularly complete. Classified: 22/08/1988 |
